I had taken the stabilisers off Maddie’s bike back in the Spring and after a few failed attempts to learn to ride without them her bike had been unceremoniously dumped in the garage and forgotten. When we were debating what to get Maddie for her birthday the idea of a new bike seemed like a good one but the condition was that she had to learn to ride without stabilisers first.
Low and behold, with a suitable incentive, it was no surprise that within a week Maddie was able to ride around without them. This is her on the new bike, within no time it will be just a distant memory that she couldn’t ride, another milestone ticked off the list, thankfully, because running along behind her was playing havoc with my back!
